location of imrc

First check the vacuum hoses that connect to these. I really suspect that when you changed the plug wires you may have either disconnected a vacuum line of moved a vacuum line that was very old and brittle and thus is broke. Vacuum lines are cheap and easy to fix so I would check that first.

well, finally got around to addressing the issue I was having with the imrc codes popping up. I used a lighted telescoping mirror to locate the imrc valves behind the intake manifolds and saw that the plastic bushings were still intact and then was able to get my hand back there and push on a small arm that's attached to the rods coming out of the valves. I then did a 2nd smoke test after reading somewhere about some lines behind the battery. saw a wisp of smoke coming from behind the battery. took the battery out and confirmed that there was smoke coming from a fitting. taped it up and put some household caulking around it. put everything back together, turned the truck back on, and the check engine light went off. went to work yesterday and the warning light stayed off. Thanks everyone for your help
