I also work there so I would be that guy at the landscape company.

Yup, that's a bobcat alright! Same as the one at the yard near me. And for 1 yard of dirt, they gave me 2 heaping scoops with the bobcat. On my 2nd trip a couple weeks later, the guy used a backhoe and gave me 1 heaping scoop as 1 yard of dirt. The amount of dirt seemed to be the same on each trip, as I was the guy using a shovel and wheel barrow to move the dirt into my yard to backfill a retaining wall I am building.

Oh, and not to slight your truck any, it is a Ford afterall, but if 1 yard of dirt weighs 2200lbs, give or take a pound, how is it you can haul 6600lbs in the bed of your truck?

Mulch weighs much less than dirt, especially dry, undied cedar mulch, which comes in at roughly 600 lbs a yard.

Oh, I thought you were talkin' dirt, man!
6600lbs in the bed would break something for sure!

Sorry, after rereading my post, I guess I never said that it was mulch, not dirt.

At work we have 2 f450's, one of the brand new twin turbo diesels, and one older v10, and they can both easily haul 4 full pallets of brick with a bobcat in tow. It's frickin amazing what those trucks can do.

We also have a mid 80's Nissan duly flat bed. The top of the cab is only at elbow height, but it can take one hell of a load.

I just thought I would post up 2 extremes, for no apparent reason, I just felt like sharing, lol

I guess I've loaded the **** out of my 1997 F-150 4x4 and I had no problems. I also have a 35 foot gooseneck stock trailer I pull with it off and on, and it doesn't have any major problems other then it's under powered. Suspension wise I have mine set up for hauling larger loads.

My dad has a 96 f-150 2wd. ext. cab with 180,000 miles on it. He uses it to haul 450 gals. of water about 15 miles, half of which is uphill, the end mile is straight downhill to our house at the bottom. at about 3800 lbs, it's pretty well overloaded. One weekend, we made 26 trips to fill the pool. It's also funny when we go to the landscape place and tell them we want 16 railroad ties and they say "there's no way an F-150 will haul that." After loading them up, they always seem astonished. You can't kill these Fords.
