Default Little help with window issue

2001 SuperCrew

Window fell of the track today, I pulled the door panel and found that the clips that hold the window slipped off the window

I was able to pull the clips (and with the help of a hammer) squeezed the clips tighter, and I put them back onto the window and reattached to the track.

The fixed worked, but I feel that it’s not going to hold for long and I want to know if there is a better fix.

EDIT I feel that I should add the piece I took out was a u-shaped clip with silicone on it bolted to the motor track with a 10mm nut, I took the hammer smashed it tighter and then reinstalled

Thanks in advance

Leo

The best way is to glue it back on. Urethane windsheild adhesive works the best. It comes in a tube that fits in a caulk gun. It's available at napa auto parts and other parts stores. it's about $12-$15 a tube. It's super strong, it's easy to work with but wear gloves cause you dont want it on your skin (its a pain to wash off). You might even get it apart and go to a windshield shop and have them add the glue.
