Lightning complete engine swap
Just picked up a 2003 repossessed lightning with 30000 miles on it. The guy was in the middle of fixing it after being rolled....anyway I want to put the engine and whatever else I need to in my 2003 supercab 4x4. I have seen other threads about this topic but would appreciate a list of what to take off the donor truck and put on mine. Also will the donor pickups tranny be able to work with my transfer case or is the tranny not gonna work. and if I use the donor truck computer and dash will it show the low 30000 miles on my truck then?

You need the motor and all associated parts and accessories, fuel pump, computer and need to adapt the transmission to accept a transfer case.
Here is some info on the transmission conversion for 2wd to a 4wd. Seems like there is a thread here on the complete write-up.

Are both of these trucks beside each other and in your possession?
If not... Grab the computer, odometer, engine, engine harness, and trans harness... Fuel hat, heat exchangers do bracket of it's still good from the roll.
The transmission can be done 2 different ways.
Take the 4r100 that's in the L and use a 4x4 tail housing on it (much more in depth) "best option"
Or get a 4x4 4r100 out of a navigator, expedition, or some f150's with a 5.4 4x4 if I had to guess. Unsure of what it comes in...

Yes I have both trucks. I have a very experienced mechanic to work on it with me. Modifying the transmission is the best option but it looks like there is a list of things I need to change on my truck to make the transmission fit and work?
Swapping a 4x4 tailshaft housing onto a 2x4 transmission, calls for complete disassemble and reassemble of said transmission.... FYI
