Default Lifter Noise?

Hi everyone! Hopefully i post this in the right place. I have a Ford F150 5.4 Triton 2001 with 185,000 mls. I have a ticking noise that is easy to hear coming from the drivers side of motor but honestly i can not tell if it is coming from the top or bottom. I can hear it good from the top and also from the fender well area. I have checked for the pulse in the injectors and can hear it in everyone of them but honestly that is what it sounds like but loud enough you can hear it all the time. The noise does accelerate with me giving it gas and speaking of gas my mileage has dropped in town to 9mls a gallon from 13! One other possible relation is that if i floor the gas for about 4 seconds and let off it will miss really bad when i ease back into the gas for about 3 seconds like a coil is out and then smooth back out but will not throw a code. Any advise will be appreciated and could one single bad plug possibly cause this?

I would start by checking your exhaust manifold on your driver side, i know for a fact it is a common problem for these trucks. My truck has two studs broke off on the drive side. If that is not the problem i would check all the plugs and cops.
