I think you mean 9007 not 9700? In my opinion its not about the bulb, its about the enclosure. HID's don't do much if anything in stock reflector housings, and I believe LED's would be the same way. If you were to retrofit those LED's into projector housings then you would get a major improvement. Doesn't matter how bright it is, if you can't get it focused down the road it doesn't do you any good.

Headlights are regulated by govmt requirements. The enclosure reflector is designed to perform for certain bulb dimensions, and has limits o n wattage, and lumens. This is why you can not buy more powerful headlamps for you enclosure.

Everything is designed to work together.

Others are correct that stock headlight housing will not work without the correct LED headlight. The lights cannot point out front of the vehicle or they are worthless. You need one that aims the light towards a reflector. This is what I found for my 2002.

https://www.amazon.com/Headlight-Con...led+headlights

I drive semi-truck. Our new trucks come with factory LED headlights. The bulbs (there are 2) are aimed at a small, angled reflector that directs the light to the dome, which reflects the light out front. These are not projector lights, in daylight they look like standard headlights. There are other LED headlights on the market that will replace the old rectangular, round 7".....pretty much any replaceable headlamp unit (not the capsule bulbs such as a 9007).

Check the link and before making a decision read the product information. There may be some modifications to make before you can use them.

Very well put!

I put the same style bulbs you linked into my sons 97 Ranger headlights. You have to trim down the black collar lock ring on the bulb side to get it to lock the LED bulb into place. Then it took a lot of aiming to get them just right, but we managed to. No cars flash him either and its been 3 weeks. He is very happy with them.

the 9th Circuit Court might overrule that. I'd hate to be driving a car and sitting down low... some of the non compliant lighting configurations are blinding!
