Default larger tires affecting performance?

Hello all, a couple of months ago purchased new tires. went from 235/70-16's to 235/85-16's to fill out the wheel wells better. but noticed that on hills that my acceleration isn't as quick as before. would the new tires have anything to do with this? thanks

You bet!!
First lets compare tire sizes...
235/70-16= 28.95" tall
235/85-16= 31.73" tall
that is a 9.6% difference! usually the most allowed without any change in performance or speedo being affected is 3%.
So yes it will definitely make a difference in how your truck's performance is.
You can change the gears to compensate for the taller tires, or just accept a little loss in performance for the cool factor in looks. I'd choose the later.

Throwing this in the equation too,
When your speedometer is reading 65 mph, your actual speed is 71 mph. Never been a real concern for me, and you can get this corrected too if it bugs ya.
