Default Lacking Power and low voltage

This afternoon i noticed as i was driving that my battery voltage gauge is reading very low, down around the 9ish area(just in the acceptable area). The truck is also acting like its not running on all cylinders power wise, but it doesnt run rough. Sounds like maybe i have a short, or the battery has decided to go bad on me. Any opinions?

Run by the parts store and have them check the battery.

Sounds like an alternator... The battery can be bad, but the alternator "should" keep the truck above 12 volts.. Unless the battery is shorted...

Use a volt meter on the battery with the truck off(should be 12 volts or better)then start the truck and test battery with it running ,should get 14 volts or so. if it does not change its the alt. good luck

Figured I would let you know that it was the alternator. Also figured I would let people know that I had to go through 2 Bad Reman's from NAPA before I smartened up and went to Advance Auto.
