Ok,
Here is your chance to spill the beans on any known issues with the 2000 F-150's with Auto Transmitions and the 5.4L V-8. I am asking because I'll be getting 2 as soon as i get home from work on the the 30th if there are no major issues with that year. So that said let me know what all I should be on the look out for and im also going threw your posts. WOW you guys are awsome! Thank you for any help you give. Alaskaman

 

what motors are gonna be in the them 4.6 or 5.4 also i ahve a 2001 and i never had a problem outta my transmission till right 200,000 miles on it and i had to have it rebuilt but thats from pulling big trailers all the time other than that no problems outta mine and its been worked hard

 

Like I said in my first post it's the 5.4 litre engine. As I look over the posts here (I'm only on page 47) I am mostly seeing issues with the 97 and 03 years. However i just wanted to know if the 2000 was prone to issues.

 

i didnt notice where you said a 5.4 lol but theres not really much trouble if you take care of if the most dreaded is the plug change

 

Yes, I have seen the spark plug issues here and there. I think I can deal with that one and water in the number 8 Coil/plug hole. I used to be a Subaru mechanic and there a good car (if not the best car) however for a truck fords have always been a first love since my old 73 F-100 with a 360 and C6. The more i read the more i think it was 97s 2003 that had the most issues as far as computer and electronics go.

 

yeah i think they got everything straitened out in 99 when they changed the bumpers around and everything
