My 1997 4.2 v-6 began knocking during low rpm accelerations about 3 weeks ago. I changed the plugs and wires and it improved, but I still have the clicking sound that increases in frequency with engine rpm, I also still have some of the knocking. The knocking seems to come around primarily after the engine has warmed up. Anyone have any ideas besides the knock sensor and egr?
