How many of these do you see on this forum?
Last night, around 7 or so, I was leaving work for home and got stopped at a light at the beginning of a bridge. There were 2 lanes going my direction and I was in the right. I'm facing uphill and it's a steep grade. You don't want to get stopped behind a semi here. At the end of the bridge on the right is an interstate entrance. Everybody wanted to turn right at the end of the bridge so several cars lined up behind me. The left lane was still open. An open invitation to drag race me, because I am a childish, childish man. In the rearview I see someone, maybe 6 cars behind me step out of line. He pulls up next to me far enough that I can see that his Mercedes W204 C class has been debadged. It's black and clean. It had those AMG wheels that really don't mean your car is special in any way but they do convey intent. The light is still red and he puts on his rh turn signal, dropping all pretense. I'm starting to like this guy. He's probably going to hand my *** to me but so what. The light turns green and I'm a little careful. I want to hook up. The back tires spin just enough and I'm off. It's a solid dig and I wasn't surprised to see that I had him on the launch. I can hear his motor wind out in 1st in the quiet cabin of my near stock truck. This is where I thought he'd get me but I couldn't see that he was gaining and we shut it down at about 33 mph. Had we continued to 35, I would have hit 2nd pretty hard which would have made my truck lunge further ahead. I bet I would have had him to 50. He bent the knee and fell in line and afterwards, on the interstate, he pulled up beside me, rolled down his black tinted window and gave me the thumbs up.
