Default Keyless Entry Pad

I bought a door handle to install a keyless entry pad on the truck. I found one for $15 so I couldn't pass it up. But before buying the actual key pad I pulled the door panel off and the speaker out to see if I'm prewired for it. My luck, I'm not. My anti theft module has the 5 digit code so I'm not sure as to why the pig tail is not there.

I'm sure there's a way to install the keypad without the pig tail from the module. But, I'm only finding wiring diagrams and installation instructions as if the pigtail exists.

Has anyone done this without the actual pig tail? I've noticed some modules have what I believe is some type antenna. Mine doesn't have it, it's like what is shown below, the right corner. (Not my module) Any help would be appreciated and I'll continue to research as well.

The earlier years were a bit odd, where I don't think they came prewired with a lot of things. Maybe stop by the Ford dealer. They could have a few wiring diagrams to help you out.

Just found this online. I'll need to find some pins that will work. I may be in the clear here...

You should be pre wired. I believe if I recall it's hidden

Then it's hidden damn good! Coming off the module, a portion of the harness breaks off through the firewall and the other goes through to the door. It should be mounted behind the speaker. I stripped the door apart looking for it and couldn't find it.

I'll be doing an oil change on it Sunday so I'm going to pull the harness off the module and check the actual pinout. I'll report back with what I find.

Well, I called the dealership. And as I figured, they couldn't provide a part number for the pins. They could get me a number on the harness, but that's discontinued and not what I need.

I'll pull the connector and take a look at the pins and pick something up similar. Hell, their only a quarter per pin.

I need to get this done pretty quick. The truck is going to paint the week of July 17th!

Maybe you can get a wiring harness for the door from an Expy or Gator and have everything there for your add. That would be the simplest, and should be a plug and play, because the rest is there. Just a thought.

I thought about that. But I'd rather not pull the portion that runs through the firewall. I have some pins that should work on the way from Mouser. I can terminate and solder in my sleep. I'll make quick work of that.

Up under the drivers area against the firewall. It will have a 5 digit code on a tag attached with the code.
