Default keyless entry

i am working on my blend door and am wondering....... i had my keyless entry working when i got the truck and not long after it died.
i dont have a chip in my key.... just wondering if a relay or something needs to be replaced to get the keyless entry system running again. i tested my remote at autozone and it showed a good signal...... any ideas?

I'd say reprogram first then dig deeper.

To do: cycle the ignition from Off to Run 8 times. On the 8th leave the switch on run. The locks should cycle up an down. Now hit a button on all the remotes you want programmed to your truck. The locks should cycle for every remote pressed. One remote: cycle once, then ignition to off. The locks will cycle again to confirm program.

Hope that helps.

I'd say a wire is off somewhere. If you go to the dealership and ask one of the service writers for a wiring diagram of the SJB (Smart Junction Box) or BCM (Body Control Module) they can pull it up by year and model. They should just run you a copy of it. I've done numerous ones for customers when I used to work at the dealership. You may ask to speak with one of the techs too.
With the diagrams, you can now check what feeds them (powers and grounds) as well as other various signal wires they use. The dealership may steer ya in a different direction, and that's fine. I've not been in the dealership in over a year now, and seldom had a RKE (Remote Keyless Entry) problem.

Sorry couldn't be more help. Hope the dealership can give ya a hand though. Good luck.
