Default Key FOBs and Alarm config

I had some work done on my 02 F150 recently. Rebuilt transmission(different thread). The battery was disconnected during the install and now the alarm behavior is different. Previously I only used the FOB for keyless entry. Actually I almost never used it, I only have one. Now I have to disarm the alarm EVERY time I want to start the truck. I have 2 questions.

1) Will these cheap($8 for two) ebay FOBs work? Damn dealer wants $60 for one. I'll probably try them in any case.

2) How to reconfigure the alarm for keyless entry only? Never been a fan of car alarms, I'd rather not carry the FOB and the key all the time. I would really like to disable the auto arming function.

I'de probly check the ones at AutoZone out if they have one in your area. they normally run 20ish bucks.

Yeah, they'll work fine. Easy enough to program also. Close door, and unlock them. cycle key on/off 8 times ending in on. locks cycle, hit any button on the remotes with each one causing the locks to cycle. turn the key off, and one final cycle. Done.

You have an aftermarket alarm?

I would get one of the manufacture.

Nope. It is Ford OEM. I don't really want an alarm, so swapping out for an aftermarket is just an unneeded expense.

The Ebay FOBs look virtually identical to the one I have. So I went ahead and bought them. Will report back when I get them.

Would still like to configure this alarm not to self arm!
