Alright so my truck didn't come with any remote fobs but I'm pretty sure the stock system is in the truck . Obviously I could find out by buying a remote fob but I'd rather not spend the 80 bucks, so wondering if there was a way to tell if the remote lock system is in the vehicle

 

Turn the key from off to on (without starting the vehicle) 8 times while ending in the ON position. Your locks should lock and unlock to verify you've entered the programming process. Once you get a remote do the same just hit a button on the remote and it'll be synced up.

 

That and 01 up came out with it maditory as long as it had power locks.

 

i bought some fobs of ebay for next to nothing. just talk to the dealer parts dept to find out which kind you need, should be some kind of part number on them. i dont think you can just buy one for ford and it work with your system
the numbers on mine are f8db-15k601-aa fcc id cwtwb1u212 can 1788 102 353
if you look on ebay there are alot on there but they all have different numbers

 

I have a 99 and was able to use my old ones from my 2005 mustang. For some reason nothing happens when I push the trunk button though!!
