Default Keep Blowing Fuse

So as I was going home the other night, my headlights shut off in automatic mode and only worked if I put them in the on position. And at the same time I noticed my automatic locks quit working as well as my O/D off button. I checked my fuses and fuse #29 was the culprit and controlled all the things that quit working.

So I replaced it, and everything went back to normal. Then I blew that one, and the next one. I noticed it would only blow if I manually shifted 1-2-D so I know I have an electrical problem somewhere in the transmission or something. Any ideas?

Not really a big deal as it's all little things that aren't working but I'm OCD and can't stand when there's something on my truck not working.

It calls for and came from the factory with a 5A one. So that's what I've been using.

For #29? The one that says for auto headlamps and overdrive indicator? I'll have to check my book again tomorrow. I could definitely see myself stupidly thinking I saw a 5 and not a 15.

Its a 5 alright. IBD posted the fuse diagram from the manual a bit ago, and I just checked it. The only 15A fuse related to it controls the HL switch. Brownings was telling me that the system isnt worth it. His keeps blowing the fuse, so he stopped messing with it.

My auto lights will only work for about a day at a time w/o blowing a fuse. It's the same deal I kept replacing them and finally just put a fuse in so my OD works and make sure not to put it on auto. It's very annoying.

There will come a point where the cost of fuses outweighs the convenience of having your lights on automatically. For me, it'd be after the second fuse blows. lol

It's not the auto lamp feature I really care about. It's the O/D button. I'll just put the fuse in and keep it out of auto and only use drive and not manually shift it
