No pictures but that was where I mounted my 6 lights when i first got them! Honestly, I think it looked "Tacky", as you put it. It was a pain to tighten them too, not to mention aiming them. They stuck out pretty far and didn't offer any protection from flying debris (airborne cats). But that is just my 0.02 cents. When I re-rig the lights I'll take a quick picture for you with four on the top bumper...maybe with all 6 on it if I decide to paint my lower valence. Next week to long for ya (only days off are m-w)?

Just to clarify, do you mean right here? If you look closely you can still see the six holes there!

I think im just going to mount them behind the grille, I was just being lazy plus I hear taking the front grille assembly off is not a quick process. Ill just suck it up and spend a afternoon on it

Good choice, the grille acts as a rock guard for the rocks and doesn't block the light, and it's really not that difficult. Your best bet would be to take the entire grille off instead of the grille insert alone. The headlights can stay on but you need to take off the turning lamps (the orange housing next to the headlight) to access the two screws holding the corners of the grille. A flathead screwdriver, philips head screwdriver, 8mm socket with an extensions and a set of pliers are all thats needed-5-10 minutes to access that area.

Oh, when aiming the lights you could leave the grille off entirely to adjust it up, down, left or right. Aiming them takes some time if your offroad. If you use a wall or garage to aim them it may or may not be aimed to your liking. I'd recommend going on a flat empty roadway without the grille to aim them.

Hope this will save you the some hassle that I (and others i'm sure) went through! Goodluck
