Default K&n cai

I am trying to upgrade my air filter. I found a used CAI for a 2001 Ford lightning. Does anyone know if this will fit my 2001 5.4 4x4 Screw? Thanks.

To answer your initial question it should fit. If your worries check out K@N and see if the one for your truck/motor is the same for the lightning.

Dont waste the money at all on a K&N CAI. I bought one before i ran across all these truck sites. And probably was the biggest waste i've bought so far

I did Gotts mod and removed the silencer/quieter (sorry, I forget the correct term) this morning on my '03 5.4 4x4 screw. $10 and 30 mins. Very happy so far. Doesn't seem like much improvement off the line, but I'm not looking to race it... Seems allot better at highway speeds. Sounds better too. I think I need to trim the PVC a little more. I think it's sticking too far into the fender well restricting air into it.
Taking a trip for a few hundred miles this week. I'll check the milage then.

Links to a couple of good threads regarding Gotts and silencer mods from a different website. Hope that's not taboo:

They take a while to load, but good description with pictures.
