im a motorcyclist as well and i stay away from tailgating, but i am often tailgated. but 80% of motorcycle accidents are due to the rider being an idiot, and a lot of motorcyclists cause accidents by doing the same. so we're not completely innocent.
Yeah i give motorcycles alot of space but they always chose weave in and out when other people dont see them.

I was guilty of that, but then i got married and realized what a tool i was. ha ha. the worst i do is cruise at 80 in the hov lane.

accidents are avoidable, but we're only human.

I ride motorcycles and other drivers scare the crap out of me. I have lost 2 close friends in motorcycle accidents (my wife was engaged to one of them). People pulling out in front of me is what i worry about the most, tailgating can be solved with one click down and twist of the wrist.

I defiantly never want anything to happen to a motorcycle driver or passenger, but my wife is a nurse and sees the results all the time. Its one of those things that you know the risks when you decide to do it, you can be the best rider ever and get peeled by some idiot. I would never ride a bike for that simple reason.

yeah I know what you mean - wasn't trying to berate you or anything just wasn't sure if you were being unnecessarily judgmental on the OP. When I was 19 I rear ended a guy because the sausage fell out of my McMuffin - luckily I was only doing like 25km/h but that was the last time I drove and ate!
