I'm gonna have to start looking for a new motor soon or later but I've just been thinking about my options it's got a 5.4 with 325000 miles on it and a tranny slip all original it's a two owner truck I'm debating on getting another 5.4 and rebuild the tranny or try something different I think it would be really cool to find some way to put a same year model 302 in it cause you can moc up a 302 to make it bad to the bone just give me some options and a couple of things I can do to just make it different than everybody else's

It would take allot of cash to get a 302 to compete with a 5.4L. First you would have to gut the truck. Engine compartment and dash in the cab.

The Ford Modular family is one of strongest, -if not the strongest 10 generation petrol engines there is.

Unless your referring to the Coyote.

319,000 on my engine and trans. Engine won't die, doesn't leak or use any oil and has more power than it did from the factory. My trans began to slip at 185,000 miles. I installed a Transgo shift kit for 100 bucks, refilled with GOOD fluid and it's been great ever since.

Just compression test your 5.4L to see how truly tired it is.

(Heck I don't even think I'd take a Yote motor, the RPM/Tq curve is way off. The 2v even though it's lacks Hp is a great engine. You can tell it was purpose built/designed as a Truck engine.)

When it's time to get a new motor I'd go with a jasper. Just my opinion though.

What do you mean? The way you would like it? If money is not an issue, and that's what you enjoy doing, go for it.
