Question iPad Radio/Dash Setup

I have a buddy who has a 2014 F150, and has a nice iPad setup that sits in brackets in front of his radio. The buttons and things it covers, are also accessible from his steering wheel so it just works pretty smooth. I have a 2001 F150 Lariat, and would love to do something similar. My current setup is a basic single din Pioneer radio, and it works great but I would love to have quick access to GPS and such on a bigger screen. Has anyone found a mod or rigged something up with an iPad in an older body styled F150 like this? Or would it be best to just simply find a double din touch screen panel? Thanks!

Well your friend has found a mod that you are looking for. Did you ask him for assistance with a setup similar to his? Double dins work just fine and there are many to choose from but it sounds like you really like your friends setup.

Yeah I do like his setup, only problem is his 2014 F150 interior/dash setup is different than my '01, so I can't use the exact same method he has due to spacing issues.
I may just try the double din touch screen radio. Thanks!
