Intermittent issues with temp guage and A/C
First time poster here. Have a 2000 F150 4.2L with STD trans. At random times, the temp gauge will redline along with oil, fan will shut off along with the A/C. I will pull over, turn the key off for 10sec and then start. Temp reads normal, no oil light and A/C will blow cold again. I'm sure this is just a sensor issue but since it does it at random times, its hard to catch it in the act to scan for codes.
Anyone experience issues such as these or can offer the common sensors to focus on? TIA!

I havent had this issue but I at one point I was getting a P1289 code which is for the cylinder head temperature sensor (CHT). In doing research on it I found that a lot of posts would mention their temp gauge and a/c acting up so you might want to look into that. I have the 4.6 so wish I could help more but at least this might give you enough information to do a forum search or google search on that and find more info.
Good luck.
Good luck.
