Default Interior door trim

I want to redo the inside trim on my door (Ignore the part where the lock buttons are).

The first time I did it, I used fabric and spray adhesive and slipped the fabric behind the panel. I would like to know if there is a way to take off the panel without it breaking so I could more easily attach the new trim and make it perfect. Has anyone done this? What is the easiest way?

What trim piece specifically are you trying to remove?

Only the one where the door handle is. In the case of our model, it is directly behind the door handle. I am looking to cover this with a fabric (unless you guys know a better way).

Don't quote me on this -

The armrest and power window/lock part are removable, but I think the upper trim portion is plastic welded on. It can be removed but you'll have to find a way to reattach it.

Gotcha. I have seen several people add trim to that piece. I just don't know if they remove it or not
