Default Interior Changes

Hello all, I have a '03 Lariat Extended cab with the 60/40 front seat, and like several others I wish I had a center console and single passenger seat instead. I have done several searches and determined that one can swap out the expedition seats with ease, but I was wondering if I could simply just get a seat bottom for a single passenger seat, a bracket for a single passenger seat, and then attach the already existing seat back to the new bracket. The reason I would rather do this than swapping for the expedition seats is because I want to keep the lariat stitching on the seat and I like having the adjustable head rest since I have a history of neck pain. This, along with many other interior upgrades have been in the planning stage for about 3 years now and I finally am in a position to start doing it. Any other solutions to my goal would be appreciated.

I'll be watching this thread, since I'm planning a similar change. I read somewhere that the passenger seat of the 60/40 has a bolt-on extension in the seat frame that can be removed, and the existing upholstery resewn to make it a single. Not 100% on this.

Interesting. That seems logical.. hmm Appreciate the input. I do like to keep all the original parts and components in tact if possible though. The leather is in perfect condition still and I would hate to cut into it. That's sort of why I have been wanting to just swap the bottoms, I am just not sure how simple its going to be once it comes time to bolt the seat back on. What console were you thinking about going to in your set up?

I did the console swap in my truck, and yes the seat back from your seat will just bolt on to the single passenger bucket seat. It's probably easiest and cheapest just to pick up a whole passenger seat from a junk yard and use the parts you need, at least that's what I did. I couldn't find a bucket seat in grey so I just got a tan one and used the frame, and had an upholstery place cut down my old seat.

Okay awesome. Could I use the mounts out of the expeditions as well? Or do I need to focus on the ones out of wrecked SCREWs? I have a way to get the seat bottom cushion and cover so all I need now is the seat bracket.
