Default intake manifold question

i had to take off my intake manifold on my 5.4 and i took off all the bolts and stuff holding it in and when i got the back passengers bolt out it was leaking coolant out of it. my question is do you guys think i got it into the valves and stuff or not?

Would think if the manifold is still in place, perhaps not. Drain the radiator to lower the water level of the engine to a point way down form actual seam of manifold and heads. Push comes to shove, its not the end of the world, any time there is a possibility of contamination, drain and refill the crankcase with new oil and replace filter. Hope this makes sense and answers your question.

More than likely that threaded bore goes all the way into the water jacket...not an uncommon condition in many engines. The fix is to get the bolt and its threaded bore whistle clean and dry, then apply some thread sealer such as Permatex (the sticky brown goop) to the bolt threads and run it back in.

same thing whn i had to take my intake manifold off my 4.6. it drinks water like i would in the desert
