Default intake manifold

Hello new to the site need help. I have a ford f150 2003 truck the engine light when on, took it to the mechanic and he says it has a code ? ( dont remember ) the problem is the intake manifold is plastic and with the heat it warps and that causes an air leak. that why on cold engine the RPM goes up and down and it has to be replace. that's about $700 bucks is this is true I heard ford had a recall on entake manifold has anyone heard about this...thanks any help is appreciated

The 4.2L for the 01 thru 03 does have intake seal issues. Codes are PO171 and PO174. Upper intake plenium comes off to expose the bolts and seals of the lower plenium. Affected seals were black new and improved are green. $150.00 out the door. 10 minute job that takes 3 hours to do.
