Hey guys and gals i have an 02 XL SCAB and it only has the odometer. I want to find one that has a tach on it as well but was told a lot of programming had to go into it to make sure the truck runs. Can anyone assist me with this or lead me to the correct write up? I have been searching and haven't seen one for my year. Thanks for the help in advance.

 

No programming has to go into it at all. Unless you want a whole new instrument cluster. If you just want a basic tach, then check the link below.

Just do what I do use the hidden tac where ur mileage is. To get it. Put key in ignition before turning key to acc position hold down the trip button hold it down and now turn key to acc wait a min or two and u will enter the hidden tac area. Now u can let the button go. I'm sure someone will explain it better than me. Also once I. Thai hidden menu u have to push te trip reset buton till tac shows that is the hidden tac. Only draw back is ya have to do this everytime u hut truck off it goes back to normal. Once the hidden stuff is up u can start truck.

It's pin 48 on the pcm if you want to hard wire it to an instrument cluster.

 

You are saying if I want to buy a tach and install right?? What kind of Work has to be done if I want to by a instrument cluster from an f150 that has the tach and odometer already built in?
