Default installing a winch

Hi there, new guy here do please be gentle lol. Got a question. Would like to install a 12 volt winch behind the cab at the end of the bed but raised up to the height of the window. Don't want to lose any bed capacity either. This is so I can pull logs and other things up ramps onto the truck. Ideas, how tos etc thanks

I've seen them mounted to the floor of the bed before but not ever on top

Take a look at this. I am planning to do the same but I plan on putting a 2 inch hitch in my bed. Then making a 2 inch winch holder for my old atv winch and putting it in the hitch, and then putting a pulley at the end of bed to help lift it up and so it doesn't drag on the bed.

Thanks for the link. Going to show it to a couple of welders I know and see what they can quote me on it.

It could work out well, but unless you're careful to brace everything, you'll endup peeling up your bed like a can of sardines.
