Default Installing The Body Lift

I'm tackling it this weekend. Be prepared to see frustration explosions. Since I'm a car guy and not a truck guy this is going to be a completely new experience.

No lift, One jack, no friends, no beer, no clue.. It's gonna be fun.

Out of all the body lift videos I looked at, I haven't seen one guy sober yet lol.

I'm sending the wife and kid back to Michigan for 4 days so I'll be pressed for time to get it completed. I doubt there will be much video. I'll post some highlights and pictures (maybe video) as I go, which is the purpose of this thread.

I've read all the threads, seen all the pictures and the videos but I'm sure there's going to be something I have to fight with. "So Far" on my truck I haven't had to deal with any rust issues but I'm still a bit nervous about the unbolting. I hope nothing is seized up.

The first hurdle is pulling out my bed liner. Lord only knows what I'm going to find under there.

How are you going to lift up your cab / bed by yourself and install your hockey pucks?

Jack, stands and 2x4's.

I'll loosen all the bolts, remove one side then tilt it up enough to put them in. If that doesn't work, I'll build an elevated frame to hold up the cab.

I'm not sure if I'm going to lift/slide the bed back out of the way yet. I'll adjust fire once I get everything torn apart.

Go ahead and soak all of the bolts in your preferred penetrating oil.

You have air tools right?

No air tools for me. I lost my full garage when I moved down here to Virginia. Now I have to do everything the hard way till we buy a house.

Well damn. I know that feeling all too well. I would definitely give you a hand if I were closer.

Reading through all the instructions certainly makes it seem intimidating, lol. We'll see how early in my adventure I start to get frustrated. If it's too early on I'll say screw it till we buy a house.
