Default Installing aftermarket tach!!!

So, my uncle tried to help me install a sunpro tach in my 4.2L f150 and we couldn't find out where to tap the green wire into, we tried the blue with green stripe wire off the coil, and the pink with white off the coil, they worked, but produced rpms way to low to be right, and when i reved it it tracked really slow.

Can anyone give me the exact location to tap into, with thorough detal? I'm not really automobile literate. lol thanks very much!

is it possible to tap into the wiring going to the factory dash? I know even if you don't have the factory tach the wiring goes into the dash because you can swap the clusters. Maybe someone can let you know which wire controlls the tach signal and you can splice into that?

I'd like to know this as well considering I think you can tap into the factory plug that is not plugged in and just hanging around waiting to be plugged up.

Put a tech in my 4.6 5 speed and you tap in to the wiring harnest under the battery box on the fire wall . f 150 net is a great site for this . I drilled a hole in the windshild piller to mount the tech works great just a 2 and 1-8 tech

Default Tach wire

If I were you I would just call sunco. Thats what I did on my 98 4.6 5speed when I did my 5 inch tach and shiftlight from autometer.
