Thumbs up Installed my Edge today

Got home from work today to find my Edge Evo sitting on the kitchen table today. Not too bad as I ordered it Saturday.
Hooked it up as per the instructions, nothing exciting there. Simple as it gets. Fired it up and ran through the installation as per the instructions, again, as simple as it gets. Just do what it tells you.

Punched in the #2 tow mode and went for a test ride. Nice. The tranny feels alot better. Just how I like it. No more annoying short shifts, easy to down shift now, and a little more pep. I like it.

Punched it into #3 mode to see what it was like. Very nice. Feels much like #2, but keeps pulling and pulling untill you let off. Also found out my serpentine belt squeels like a pig at high RPM's.

Punched in some custom setting numbers on #3 that I had been researching. Hit the key and started it up. Sounded like a Harley sitting there idling.
Bawoomp, bawoomp, bawoomp, coming out of my sided dumped Thrush. My headlights actually were dimming with the beat of the exhaust.
Took a slow ride up the road not knowing what to expect. Not the best setting for around town I guess. Lumpy, jerkey, felt like it wanted to stall at every stop.
Got out of town on a empty flat stretch and put the coals to it. Good God what a difference.!!! It was a complete different truck. I guess thaose settings are for wide open runs only. It pulled, and pulled, and pulled, and pulled, untill I had to stand on the brakes at the end.
It was hard to get past 4,500 rpm stock.

Now it's back to level one for the commute to work tomorrow.

Can't wait to play around with it some more.

Great to hear!

I'm back to spending more time on my baby and the Edge Evo is something I'm eying. I'm looking more to help w/gas mileage then anything. My neighbor is a Ford Master Mechanic and he is telling me to get a intake and exhaust to see instant MPG increase. Not questioning the advise, just questioning with the added sound if I'll be able to keep my foot out of it.

If you dont mind, when you go back to mode 1 for your commute tomorrow can you respond back with MPG difference?

Thanks! and happy driving!

be careful running the level 3 tune on 87 octane, that tune requires premium gas. other than that, youll love the edge, i love mine!

I probably lost 3-4 MPG since putting the side dumped exhaust on. I turn off the raidio ,put the windows down, and listen to it bounce off of the buildings as I go past. Hard to keep your foot out of it.

It will be awhile before I get any mpg figures I'd imagine. I was getting in the high 12's-low 13's before. On my next fill up I'll keep track and see what I get. Usually go through about a tank a week. I'll post up my results.

I knew it was coming today so I ran it down to near empty and put 20 gallons of 93 in it. Though I was going to have to get a second mortgage.

What settings did you enter in level 3? Just wondering haven't got a chance to mess with the settings on mine yet...
