Default IMRC delete??

Was wondering if anyone has done this on there 4.2? and if it increased hp or torque, or just caused a lot of problems and if it threw a code at all?

Thanks I was reading in some thunderbird forums when i googled this that they had done this and noticed some power gains but didnt say where, if it was low rpm or high, but my question is does it cause problems in the long run and is there a way to delete it from the ECU so it doesnt throw a code.

I read some stuff about the imrc delete when I was putting a new motor in my truck, and putting the old intake onto the new motor. I didn't do it. I put new bushings in and am running it how it is. I read a lot on it and it didn't seem to really be much of a benefit to get rid of it. I'll try to find some of the threads I found on it, I remember someone comparing power gains/losses high rpm vs low with and without it.

I'll try to get you those in a day or two.

I wouldn't do it. I had mine stick open on a 98 Cobra and you could really feel the difference in the lower rps. I fixed them which was a pain pulling the intake and cleaning them but it was better than deleteing them.

I actually found a thunderbird forum and read that, and how it kills your low rpm's and increased your high rpm's a little bit. Untill then I had no clue what the function of it was, and thought it might have been something to reduce emissions. Lord knows they use a lot of different things to reduce emissions that rob the motor of power. Glad to know all this now def not going to get rid of it. Does anyone know if they sell stronger bushings then the plastic ones for it? Im rebuilding my motor right now and want to replace them while the motors out.
