Default idle

on my youtube channel a guy told me that if i turn down my idle it would give my truck a real nasty lope, ok so what are the pros and cons of doing this and how do you do this..

I hope you are joking. There are no "pros" of dropping your idle on a stock truck in hopes to make it lope. Remember you're truck is not carbureted and will make adjustments on it's own.


An aftermarket cam may make a little "lope".

If you want a cheap way to make it lope, unplug one of your COPs and drive around.

Not 100% true, I have the idle turned down on my truck to save fuel. Granted this only helps me because my truck spends hours a day idling often, so the difference between burning .6 gph and .5gph at idle adds up a bit after a week or so.

Fair enough. Minor change in idle RPM could save gas.

As for dropping it low enough to cause a lope is pretty dumb, in my opinion.
