Default Identify the transmission

Hi everyone. I have a 2001 supercab, 2wheel drive, 5.4L, with one of the overdrive transmissions. I need to know which one in order to get the right filter and gasget. The numbers on it are; RF-F3LP-7A040-AA. Thats all. My truck has over 200K miles on it and I have just recently started to use it for long trips with heavy loads. This should be simple but I can't figure it out. Thank you for your help!!

Default That was easy!

Thank you both! I was thinking of changing engine and transmission oil over to Amsoil. My truck has had Mobile 1 its entire life, would this be better or should I stick with Mobile 1? What should I use in the transmission?

I think AMSOIL for the engine would be fine. I have no opinion on using it for the transmission. I just changed fluid and filter in the trans and used Motorcraft Mercon V.

I been thinking of switching to Amsoil or Motorcraft synthetic 5W20 for the engine as well, my Dad has run Amsoil for years and swears by the stuff....I haven't decided on tranny yet...

My long time friend and long time customer has AMSOIL ATF in his 2000 SDF350 4x4 7.3L dually (bought new) for the last 10+- years. He pulls a huge 5th wheel + Alumna motorcycle trailer tag along all over and has approx. 175,000+ miles on the truck. He been using the AMSOIL AME HD Diesel oil and going 15,000 miles = one year oil changes. He is getting ready for his winter pilgrimage to Florida as he was by last week to pickup 4 gals of oil for his annual change before leaving the end of his month. He has made at least 8 trips from Michigan to Florida with that truck and never experienced a problem.

PS - Also he is running the Severe Gear 75W-140 in both differentials.

Btw - Once you figure out which trans you have you can look up capacities here ----AMSOIL Online Product Application Guide
