Default i need your help subs in a reg cab

I have a question, I was hopeing you could help me with! I'm building a sub box to fit in my 98 f150 reg. cab. I chose to go with a ported box. I built it to specs from the manafacturerer. They said for a ported box should be: Ported Box Volume (cubic feet) 0.84 and the Port diameter (inches) 3 Port length (inches) 11.75. My problem is a 3 inch port that long will hit my sub! so my question is Can i use two 1 1/2" ports to get the same response. If that won't work do you have any suggestions?
Thanks,

Dustin

p.s the subs are 10's

I've always liked the quality of sound from a closed box system and its a little more practical to fit in vehicles

Spent $2500 for the car audio set up in my last car. Took it all out when I bought my truck and the only thing I could fit in was a pair of 6x9's and a deck.

your right with ported boxes and more bass there is more air flow to the subs but it all depends on what kind of music you listen to...

I have a scab and I made a sealed box to Stick under my rear seats built for two 12" subs with a 1000.1. monoblock class D amp but I listen to country music with the occasional classic rock. I like a deep, clean bass so I tuned my amp to that. rap sounds better with a ported box
