Default Hypertech Question?

Does anyone know if the hypretech programmer lll will work for if i change my gears will that fix all of the problems that will pop up?

I wouldn't use it even if it will work. Hypertech is one of the worst tuners available as far as problems that occur from having the truck tuned with it. Get a reputable tuner, it will fix the gear problem and be more fun to drive.

Custom tuning is the best way to go. Here are the two best on the market:
Xcal 3 from VMP tuning
Gryphon from PowerHungry Performance

It wont work! I bought won on ebay for the same reason and as far as tuners go it's crap. On my 97 all it would do is give it a tune and firm up the tranny. You could'nt read or clear codes The box said I could do all kinds of stuff. Yeah but the small print tells you only on certain years. You get what you pay for so get yourself a tuner that you can put custom tunes on and all the other good stuff like reading and clearing codes removeing the speed limiter, turn off the Cel light for not having cats and correcting the speedometer for different size tires. New or used you can allways get most of your money back if you sell it in the future. Keep a eye on ebay you'll find a deal.
