Default HVAC Issues

Hi all:

I'm new to the forum. Have a 2001 F-150 2wd Crew Cab with 4.6 L. When using A/C or heat, I'm getting air blowing through vents, floor and defrost. Regardless of switching the HVAC selector, I get the same result. Do you think this is the control (in the dash) or something mechanical with the door directing the air? I hope it's just the switch because it looks like I can get that for about $65.00

It sounds like a mode door doesn’t exist (well, it’s not in place) anymore.

I don’t believe this will be just a switch kinda fix.

Got it. Thanks. Any tips on videos or instructions on replacing the mode door?

Hi again. False alarm - duh... I realized after some quick checking that the vacuum line going to the control had been pulled off. So, that was a quick fix.

I had a hissing noise coming from this sucker. Repositioned the hose noise went away. Mine was cycling between defrost and vents when running the ac.

Cool. Yanking the right hose out will do that. Glad it was a quickie fix.
