How to repair rusted truck bed
Hey guys, so I took out the bedliner on my "new" f150 and the bedliner rusted to crap out of the bed
. Buying a new bed is my absolute last resort, so how could I repair this in a way that would be strong and tough. Also the support/ cross emeber under the rust holes is completly rusted, so I was thinking of replacing this with a good ol piece of unistrut. What I was thinking of doing was cutting out the bed floor and welding in a new piece of metal and then weld in supports undernieth it for support, however this would be a large pain in the ***. What do you guys think? Any other ideas or advice? As you can see from the picture, I ran out of duct tape... Thanks yall!

You can buy the floor skin out off of LMC and just replace that. But in all probability if the floor is rusted out like that, everything under it is probably rusted out too. So you'll probably better off swapping the bed.
When they are that bad, it's better to replace them. There are so many beds out there. SB, SB flareside, LB, SCrew Bed. I wouldn't even consider doing a repair on this bed. I know you can find beds here, anywhere from 200 on up to 1500. It just depends on what you want, etc. I found a flareside bed, complete, for 300 the other day. I don't like fiberglass beds, per se, so I stuck with the metal 6.5 for my 2000 project I'm doing. I got a 6.5 styleside bed for 250 with tailgate last weekend, so they are out there for the asking. Good luck.
Been shopping here in the Northeast. Specifically Massachusetts.
One hour away from me, 700 bucks, and all the bottom supports 1/2 rusted
One and 1/2 hour from me. 900, but needs a 500 bucks of body work.
I sure wish I had access to the 200 and 300 dollar rust free beds that every is certain is just there for the taking.
Most of the time, it will take a grand of new paint and body work.
I understand how the OP wanted to control costs.
