Default How to remove ball joints

I want to know how to remove the ball joints well actually do i need a spring compressor or how do i remove the ball joint from the spindle to replace them im scared of the spring just popin out when i removed the screw from the balljoint or do i just jack it up real high to make it hang or how do i doit

i just replaced mine last week. all i needed was a set of wrenches, an impact, and a big hammer. it all went pretty easy, i just looked at it and learned as i went along. took a few hours though. you gotta replace the whole upper control arm to replace the top ball joint, but the lower ball joints you have to pound out.

Oh ok, how bout the removal of the top upper control arm how do you keep the bottom from shooting down when u remove the upper control arm u know cause is compress with the spring

You want the lower control arm to release down to give you more space to work with. You can move the lower control arm back into position with a jack when you're done. Just make sure you miss the cv joint when swinging the hammer unless you have a balljoint remover.
