How to messure the bolt pattern
Trying to order a front suspension kit, but there is 2 different bolt patterns.
What and where do i measure to get the pattern i need to order
2001 f150 4x4, 4 door 5.4

Think of a bolt pattern, as the face of a clock.
Let's say you have one wheel stud at the 12:00 position. Measure from the center of that stud, to the center of another stud at about the 5:00 or 7:00 position. This will give you your bolt pattern. You don't necessarily have to use a set of calipers to get the correct dimension, just know what your possibilities are, and your tape measure will tell you which one it should be. This use to be easier when Fords smaller than 3/4 tons, were 5on5.5 or 5on4.5 and standard, not metric. But it's still not that complicated.
