Default How to -- Headlight

My passenger side headlight is a little off. (2001)
Here's what my owner's manual says about aiming my headlights...
AIMING THE HEADLAMPS
The headlamps on your vehicle are properly aimed at the assembly plant.
If your vehicle has been in an accident the alignment of your headlamps

should be checked by a qualified service technician.

Thanks Ford. Thanks for all the info. I guess I can understand why, too.

But I want to aim them myself. I don't want my low beams to be so high that other people are blinded. I just want them where I want them.

How to do it?

If you look behind your headlight and see a screw head with a gear attached to it, turn it with a screwdriver and it will move the headlight around. I am not familiar yet with the 97-03 style... yet- but most vehicles have two. One screw for horizontal and one for vertical adjustments.

Position the truck about 10-15 feet from a garage door or a light colored wall and use the wall (preferably one with lines for equal adjustments) and have fun. Its SUPER easy.

i had to adjust mine, its a pain in the ***, when you pull the light housing out itll have 3 screws in the back of the housing with a black cross thing on each, they're used to align the light. 2 of them angle it up and down and im assuming the 3rd one in the corner is the outside/inside angle. i had to hold the screw with a pair of needle nose pliers and turn the little black thing and then put the light housing back in to see if it matched the other lights height, it took me like 5 tries, i did this infront of my garage door.

i would put a towel or somthing over your bumper underneath where youre working..i scuffed my bumper up from the headlight housing laying on it

hope this helps

They suck to do, I picked up some Lightning headlights and it took me like 10-15 minutes each to put back in just because you have line up those clips.
