You don't grease a slip yoke, it is lubricated by the fluid in the transmission (or transfer case in a 4x4).
Do you mean the u-joints?

Actually, you do grease it. Ford has issued a TSB on it.

You need to pull the D/S out, and the PTFE grease goes inside where the splines are. From the factory they were coated with teflon, and eventually that wears off.

Here's a pretty good video or two on it.

This is a 2011, but it's the same principal.

So greasing the splines of the slip yoke? Never heard of that.
What TSB #. Only TSB I can find is for newer trucks, not our gen.

As for the splines needing grease, that is news to me, never heard of it.

It's easier to find that one because they are more prone to it. The 97 model year had it's own TSB, which is 97-13-21. Really, they should modify it and include all of the 97+ trucks.

Also, this lists the TSB's involved on the side. It is the grease Ford recommends as the fix:

Yea, it's the "clunk" TSB. I haven't watched vidyos posted, but you use brake cleaner medium vap, get everything spotless then apply a very thin coat of teflon grease.
