Default How do I identify the GEM module I need?

So I have a 1997 Ford F150 4x4. It needs a new GEM module because the one that's on it is for a 2WD which is wrong. Idk how it even works at all, but it definitely doesn't let my 4x4 work at all. My question is how can I figure out which GEM module my truck needs? There's a few different modules in the parts store for a 4x4. Is there a special nunber somewhere?
