Stop asking about this. It's not the reason for your issue.

Your issue is that you can't start the truck unless your steering wheel is straight. This does not mean you need a new flex plate, Jesus. Look at a picture of what a flex plate it. HOW IN THE WORLD WOULD TURNING YOUR STEERING WHEEL MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO A SOLID PIECE OF METAL?!?!?!

If it has broken teeth, sure it might not start until the starter grabs enough to get past it. But that is not what you describe and certainly isn't related to your steering wheel.

Thanks for your complete explanation. I am sure that I do look like an Idiot to you. Since you have a complete understanding of the mechanics, what do you think Could be the problem? I guess that I could just live with the issue and just make sure that I park the truck with the steering wheel dead in the middle. I am hoping there is a fix and any idea's you guys could share your with me so that I can try to fix this problem.

The next time it does it, put the truck in Neutral, then try to start it. If yes, I have an idea. If not, it'm betting it's something in your ignition.
