I have a 2003 f150 supercrew 4x4 king ranch and i was sitting at a light and as i accelerated i herd a loud pop and the engine started to run really rough and idled rough also. Luckily i was close to my house when this happened. I got out looked under the hood and couldnt see anything. So i let it sit for awhile and my buddy looked at it and noticed that the coil and the spark plug itself was out of the hole!!!! What made this happend has this happend to anyone else???

Did you check the plug threads?? Someone else on the forum blew a spark plug also. Been reading around on this and seems common.

 

Yea they looked to be fine.The dealership put them in also after i had a mud ridding incident i brought it in and they thought that might have been the problem and it wasent of course but still had to pay for it.

 

Assuming you have the 5.4 engine, believe its the 05 and older with few threads holding in the spark plugs, several have been posted blowing out. Use the search button for more info.
