How do you know it is charged correctly?
Did you evacuate and recharge according to specs?
Was it cooling well,then stopped?
Is the fan clutch operating correctly?

From the comments you made, you need to bring it to a competent A/C shop.

If you know all of the answers to Digital's questions, have you checked to see if your blend door/blend door motor is functioning correctly?

Default AC 97 Good then Not

I had a problem similar except my A/C just quit, then got cool again, quit and defaulted to heater air was always strong. Of course we were on vacation and it was 99 degrees. After we got to our designation and parked for about four hours. Started it up and it cooled again for twenty minutes. Took it to a Ford dealer and found out that the air diverter was probably stuck causing the default to heater. I suffered all the way home and took it to my mech and he confirmed; however it was $500 bucks less. He bought an after market one with a steel pivot pin, instead of an all plastic (OEM) and all was well. Hope this helps if you haven't already figured it out or got someone to fix it. Hope this wasn't the fault, the fix still was't cheap the dash all of it had to be pulled to get at the air diffuser. Problem was the plastic diffuser shaft, it finally broke causing the default to heater. Ya know 99 isn't so hot with the heater on and the windows down!
