I cut 2 holes in the top of the bumper under the grill. Then also cut the same 2 holes in the mesh of the brush guard. The bar on the brush guard covers the holes in the bumper up nicely though. It gives enough room to get your hand in for the remote and to release the rope

I wish I could post a pic of my winch mount but the iphone app won't let me. I've tried several times. Urs is pretty neat pretty close to mine.
