Default Is hitting the rev limiter bad?

So yesterday i was pulling a 5,000 pound boat up the yard and it was muddy so i droped her in to 4low and they broke losse and she stayed in 1st gear and she hit 5,500 rpm which i've never gottin her to 4,000 rpm before and it made a 2steping sound and it did'nt feel good. I just wanna know if it hurt the truck because it took me 3 trys to get her started this morning and usally only takes one. Thanks

Rev limiters are there to keep you from hurting the truck. I'm not sure how the governor works on ours, usually it cuts out the spark or fuel to select cylinders.
