Looks like 130 amp is the highest it goes. Is this what I need?

Yea that's a 2 hole, so 130 amp is what you have.

Take a look at the front of the alt. See the "spokes" that are formed by the two lines? The 130-amp alts have two holes between the lines. The 95's have four.

Here. This will be easier...

This said, unless you have a MASSIVE audio system, enough lights to brighten a stadium, or run a plow or other high-current accessories, the 130-amp alternator should provide plenty of power.

Of course, I have a rebuild/upgrade kit waiting to be installed which is designed to add 30-40 amps. I don't need the extra "oomph." I just wanted all new internals, and that seemed like the best way.

Andy

Positive. It may be 160 amp. All 97/98 130 amp's tested out 160 amp (the 2 hole large case). That changed in 99. I don't when in 99, you can take it in and have gauged.

Google Searched, - Ford alt 2 hole and 4 hole

Well, somebody beat me to it, didn't you ask me ? Oh well lol.

Thanks for all the help guys!! Guess no need for a bigger alternator. I was wondering for my emergency lighting.

I ran the numbers and
that is a 95amp Autozone alternator.

We'll... that's interesting. Somebody's making/rebuilding large-case alternators with smaller stators? I guess unless it's OEM Motorcraft, you can't count on the visual cues.

Knight: Are there two holes or four in the "webbing" on that thing?

Andy

P. S. Sorry, Brew. I figured you would've been sawing logs at that time.

Looks like that is the case, Andy. It's a damn Valucraft too.

That sucks. The stock pic on Vatozone's page has 4 holes though.
