Question High idle at start.

My 2000 f150 XLT idles at 2200rpm at startup and stays at that until i put it in gear..then it goes down to about 800..
Is this normal for it? It has a 4.6l engine..

Ah i really dont know the truck..I bought it pretty much the way it is except for all the exterior mods. It runs real good still so its not harming it in any way...Maybe where it was imported from Canada? Would that have anything to do with it?

Clean the throttle body, MAF, and check the IAC.
